The iconic lighting necessity exhibits proper constructive craftsmanship and appropriate arched receptacle - correct for both period home use and soldier on campaign. This one is exactly as pictured in Neumann\'s \"Early American Antique Country Furnishings\". Condition is quite fine with a wonderful aura of time to the patinated iron surfaces. and no damage or any hidden restorations to mention for accuracy. The iron pinned scissor action still functions exactly as proper. There are just typical and expected signs of genuine period use...here simply more evidence of the real thing . A look at the pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition. Size is about 5 7/8 in. long and 1 5/8 in. across at the finger loops.
