As per rules the paper thin slice of ivory used in this portrait is less than 5 % of the total mass and is pre-ban elephant ivory.The frame measures 4 3/4 by 4 5/8 inches or 12 by 11.7 cm, the painting is round and measures 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The painting features a beautiful young woman with brown hair seated for her portrait. She is wearing a blue dress with a large white collar and orange coral jewelry; she holds a small bouquet of pink roses in one hand. The painting has a gilt brass bezel and is protected by glass. The frame is wood with a dark brown patina or color. The painting is in excellent condition and has nice attention to detail.
