Fine 19thC Chinese Rose Mandarin Cream Jug / Sauce Boat w/ Enamel Characters:

This fine Chinese rose mandarin cream jug is decorated with a colorful enamel painted scene of several Mandarin characters on the front, highlighted with gilt in their hair, and a lovely urn with a bird, a butterfly, and flowers on either side of the body. The inner border is decorated with enamel painted bird scenes, bats, and floral designs on a gold gilt background. The The outer border is decorated with butterflies and floral designs on a gold gilt background. The top rim, handle, and foot rim are nicely highlighted with gold gilt. It dates from the early 19th Century and measures approximately 4 + 1/8 inches at it\'s highest point, 4 inches across the mouth, and 6 + 1/2 inches from the back of the handle to the tip of the spout. It is of fine quality and is in excellent condition with the exception of some wear on the git and enamel.
