Finest Pair of Georgian Natural Coral Drop Earrings c1820Stunning Complete with Original Gold Wire Hook Fittings
A stunning & rare pair of antique Georgian Coral Drop Earrings dating to c1820, which have been entirely crafted by hand. The natural Coral is deeply carved and the Earrings are complete with their original wire & ball decorated Gold fittings (pleasesee the detailed close-upphotographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
These wonderful early 19th Century Earrings are in superb original condition; the Coral has no cracks or chips and is still held in place within the Gold fittings with the original Shellac used by the Georgian Goldsmith. The Gold fittings are original and in great condition, however commensurate with age one has a couple of small splits near the edge, as shown, where the Coral may have been reinserted at some point historically and it has lost some of it\'s ball decoration, but these are still fabulous Georgian Gold Coral Drop Earrings in original untouched condition.
It is important to appreciate that these are genuine Georgian Earrings; as such each Earring been completely crafted by hand, therefore although they are perfectly matched they are not absolutely identical in size or weight as they would be if they had been produced by a machine. They have a drop of approximately 4.2cms including the hook fittings and they have a combined weight of 4.7 grams.
In summary, astunning & rare pair of antique Georgian Coral Drop Earrings dating to c1820, which look wonderful in the ear - quite simply sublime.
