Description An excellent quality English antiqueVictorian solid silver& polished cow bone calling card case, dating from around 1880-1890. Beautiful genuine 19th Century example, with stunning polished bone side panels and with quality solid silver hinges and silver lid catch and with a handsome solid silver oval \"belt\" cartouche. Inside it still has the original silk lining with 2 compartments.Great size, perfect for modern day credit cards.

MeasurementsLarge size, measures approx. 4.15 inches (104mm)x2.85 inches (72mm)and is0.5 inches (12mm) deep.

Date English antique Victorian solid silvermounted, no hallmarks as is quite normal with this kind of case, fully acid tested and guaranteed solid sterling. Dates from around 1880-1890.

ConditionGoodcondition, no splits or repairs the silver, the lid hinges and lid catch all work perfectly. Most importantly the 2 cow/ox bone side panels are pristine, with no chips, cracks or hairlines and they have a beautiful natural colouring. The interior silk lining is original, a bit worn with some little tears and stains, could be replaced or removed completely if wanted. Small period engraved monograms in the little shield on the front. The perfect size for modern day credit cards.
