We are offering for sale an excellentquality Georgian period 3-piece silver tea service comprising a teapot, sugar bowl and milk or cream jug.

This fine Georgian teaset has a beautifully engraved band around the body of each piece depicting scallop shells and stylised fish. This Regency set has a gadroon border around the rim and stands on four ball feet. The interiors of the sucriere and creamer are gilt (gold-washed) and the set has a fabulous feel to it. The teapot has a silver finial, black wooden handle to protect the user from heat and pours well.

The teaset has a good weight and is in fine condition throughout with a lovely original patina.

MEASUREMENTS:Teapot: 28cm (11\") long (handle to spout tip); 14.8cm (5.9\") high; 1400ml (2.3pints) capacity. Milk Jug: 15.2cm (6\") long; 9.5cm (3.75\") high. Sugar Bowl: 21cm (8.25\") long; 10cm (4\") high. 1130 grams (36.3 troy ounces) combined weight.

MARKS: Full set of English hallmarks (guaranteeing Sterling 925 standard silver) to each piece for London 1810 bySolomon Hougham.

CONDITION: Excellent. The ball feet of the teapot have dents to them, but the teapot still stands square. The engraving is crisp.
