Up for sale is aFine Old African Art Mali Chi Wara Tribal Head with Basket. It is a former Museum Deaccession Piece with the catalog collection number still intact applied to the underside of the head as shown in the photos. Great rare piece that shows some decent age and is in very good condition. Measures about 18\" x 13\" with the basket being about 7 1/2\" wide at the base. This scarce artifact would make for an excellent addition to your museum or the high end collector. It looks like a hat form with an antelope on top. The condition is as follows:wear as expected from age, loss to antelope horn where it broke off, basket structue loose/floppy on one side, needs help to stand up such as putting something inside the basket to keep its strength like an empty soda can we have used for display, see photos and offer accordingly.
