Forsale is a fine old most likely French violin bow which is stamped\"Carrodus\" around 1910.ThenameCarrodus was a trade name for violin bows imported fromMirecourt by Hawkes & Co in London from the late 1880s to theearly 1900s. They were named in honour of the violin virtuoso JohnTiplady Carrodus (1836-1895), a prolific concert master, soloist, andprofessor of the violin who enjoyed nationwide celebrity status.Thebow is silver mounted and all parts are original. The stick is madeof nice and firm, round chocolate brown pernambuco wood. No cracks orrepairs on the stick. Weightwithouthairs is 50Grams.
