There are a richvariety of boomerangs and this particular one is for hunting/fighting in the harshAustralian Environment of Central Australia.It also can be used ceremonially.This is a very good typical example from this area. It has a gently curved form with chisel markson bark and rowsof fluting on the face of the boomerang running the fulllength. It has traces of red ochre and apatina from use. Along the top edge it is a darkened black color a sign it has been used for fire starting. It was a well used boomerang before it wascollected in the early 1940’s. There is a small pin prick hole in the middle near the handle end as seen in the photos
