Flow Blue Royal Doulton \"Provence\" Plate with Bird - RARE:

This is a Flow Blue plate made by Royal Doulton in England. It is 9.5 inches in diameter. The pattern is called Provence and it was made between 1900 and 1920. This is one plate from a series that includes varying game bird images. This particular plate shows a bird among some foliage in the center. The border edging of the plate has ornate, beautiful ribbon scrolling with bouquets of flowers.The color is white and deep cobalt blue with a faint gold trim around the edge. I\'ve shown a close up photo of the edge, where you can see a faint gold rim. The gold has worn off with time. The plate shows signs of use but is in good condition. There are 3 small chips on the edge around the bottom of the plate (I\'ve included two pictures of each chip - two are close together). The chips are quite small and you have to look really close to see them. There are light scratches on the surface from over a hundred years of use. The enamel has some cracking beneath the surface, which is natural for the age of the item; the enamel is smooth to the touch. (I\'ve included a close up picture so you can see this.)
On the back of the plate is a blue \"Royal Doulton England PROVENCE\" stamp showing their crown logo. There is another stamp, that says \"Royal Doulton England\" as well as a stamp that says \"Z\" 5-04. There\'s also a marking, in ink that says \"21\", or \"12\" depending on the direction you\'re holding the plate. I\'m assuming this indicates the image number from the series, but I can\'t be certain. I\'ve included photos of all markings on the back.This is an incredibly rare and gorgeous item, a perfect plate for the true Flow Blue Collector. It\'s in great shape for it\'s age! Don\'t let it get away!
