Rare complete Pteranodon wing bone on natural chalk matrix (as found). This is a huge humerus. Based on its size we are talking here of probably one of the biggest Pteranodons with a wing span of 20 ft (6,5 m) or more. The bone is in excellent condition.
As Pterosaur bones are hollow they are flattened during fossilization, but the bone and articulations have been very well preserved. Pterosaur discoveries are rare, certainly when it comes to complete bones of exceptional size.
