This knife is preownes and has some defects. Tip of knife has a tiny bend to it from landing on it\'s point, did not chip or break and not too noticeable while on wall. also the blade is loose in the handle but does not come out. and lastly the display frame has some chips in a few spots. all defects are pictured. This knife is still a beautiful collectors piece and extremely rare. questions welcome. Franklin Mint - The Guard Of The North Star Art Knife by Richard Conrad. Inspired by the loyalty of the wolf and the guiding light of the North Star, Richard Conrad created this beautiful art knife The Guard of the North Star. This item has been retired and is no longer available from the Franklin Mint. This dagger art knife features intricately hand-sculptured wolf\'s head at the pommel a stainless steel blade, and has a starburst representing the North Star on the handle. The stainless steel blade honed to a most extraordinary design, seems to echo the first undulations of the approaching dawn, when the wolf and its star will part ways until the morrow. The blade is crafted of polished stainless steel. The handle is also set with a round orb in a aurora borealis like colors. This powerful collectors dagger is hand- painted and polished and accented with silver and gold. The dagger measures approximately 14 1/2\" x 5\" and comes with a wall mountable display that is grey frame and a black felt backing that measures approximately 19 1/2\" x 9 1/2\", complete with name plate of this collectible. In the late 1990’s the Franklin Mint had a large demand for art featuring wolves and this art knife dagger was very popular and sought after by collectors. It was limited to just 95 casting days and closed forever after
