French Art Deco Statue Woman and Borzoi Dogs Spelter Bronze Porcelain and Marble:

This is a French Art Deco spelter bronze statue of a woman walking a pair of borzoi dogs c.1930.

In a scene that embodies the Deco style aesthetic, an elegant woman in sweeping full length dress takes the two borzoi hounds for a walk.

Posed in delicate gait the woman is flanked by the hounds cast in contrasting hue to the striking dark graphite tones of the dress and porcelain face and hands.

The marble plinth has been cut from various different coloured stones in tiered form. The marble is smooth and has been polished so is offered chip and flake free. The statue has a museum like quality to it and is very heavy.
