French Manufactured Naval Sword last quarter 1800\'s :

This is very unique Naval sword from the last Quarter of the 19th Century. The sword came from a naval collection started in the 1950\'s. The scabbard still has the inventory tag on it. The sword is in good condition and has 3 letters on the guard along with an attached solid silver fouled anchor. The blade is hand engraved by maker Klingenthal and the blade tip is quite unique with a chisel point. The guard is shark skin wrapped and wire bound the wire is a bit loose from age. The guard is gold washed with much detail and the interior of the guard folds. The blade appears to have had a monogram that was removed from both sides and the pommel may be missing a mounted part. I have tired to research this sword for several years and cannot find out where it comes from? It is for sure Naval and looks like a U.S. Model 1852 Naval sword but of much better quality. The scabbard is in fine condition with two suspension rings. The sword is in untouched condition and the blade is extremely well forged with an upper , central and lower fuller ending with a chisel point tip. The solid silver period mounted anchor cover letters on the guard which appear to be E.U.C. or B.U.D. ?? The sword is very high quality but I honestly have no idea which country it comes from or what rank of navy it is? The 1950\'s inventory tag reads #NN.20X3.
