IDENTIFIED BRIGADIER GENERAL UNIFORM USAF US AIR FORCE COMMAND PILOT WINGS MESS DRESS MEDALS - RARE INFORMAL BLACK CEREMONIAL DRESS UNIFORM BRIGADIER GENERAL WALTER P PALUCH, JR, USAF

For sale is a US Air Force 1960s informal black ceremonial dress uniform that was used by Brigadier General Walter P Paluch, Jr, USAF. The general retired as the commander of the 314th Air Division (PACAF), with headquarters at Osan Air Base in the Republic of Korea. The general\'s full biography may be found on the official US Air Force web site. The sale if for the uniform coat, with all insignia and trousers. The mannequin, white shirt and tie are not part of the sale. Informal black uniforms are extremely rare and are hard to find. The coat is black and is the same style as the service dress uniform. However, rank is displayed by mess dress shoulder boards and mess dress miniature medals were used in lieu of ribbons. Pilot wings were mess dress size as well.

The coat displays mess dress shoulder boards for brigadier general, are dated to 1966 and are made by NS Meyer. The wings are mess dress size, are sterling command pilot wings, and are also made by NS Meyer. The medal grouping is a beautiful 14 place over lapping set. The officer \"US\" insignia are marked sterling and have the maker mark for Volupte. Only the general rank coats display the wide 1.5 inch silver sleeve braid. The coat was tailor made by Falcon of South Korea and also has the general\'s name directly embroidered into the uniform above the internal pocket. The coat is in very good condition. There are no size tags as the uniform was tailor made for the general but the approximate measurements are: arm-pit seam to the other 21.5 inches; top shoulder seam to the other 16.5 inches; top shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve is 28 inches; and top of the collar to the end of the coat is 32 inches. The matching black trousers display the silver braid down the leg. The trousers measure approximately 36 waist, with an inseam of 31.5 and 2.5 inches in the hem.
