Description -A solid sterling silver George II half pint tankard by Francis Spilsbury I.Dated for 1735 and assay for London.A gorgeous George II era half pinttankard which isbeautifullyembossed with scrolls, floral decoration to the body and an engraved crest mark to the front.Comes with a lovely scroll shaped handle and stands on circular pedestal base.A splendid piece of history its from the George II era and is 282 years old a true antique.Overall a wonderful and rare tankard of this age. Would be a delightful addition to a collection.
Silver Weight 199 Grams.
The condition is excellent for its age.There is the odd small dent and ding nothing to bad just wear, which you would expect with its age as it is 282 years old.The interior of the mug at the bottom where the handle is attracted is sadly split and therefore the tankard leaks liquids (See pic 12)No damage or repairs to the base or handle.The hallmarks to the underneath of the mug are rubbed which you would expect with age but still visible.The top and bottom rims are not out off shape in anyway and stands perfectly well.Overall a delightful George II half pint tankard which is ready to be added to your private collection.
