Super Condition - Really Gorgeous Design - 42 troy oz.

This isa superb ANTIQUE GEORGIAN sterling silver candlestick, that was made in Sheffield, England in 1805 by the illustrious North Country silversmiths, John Roberts, Samuel Mosley & John Settle of John Roberts & Company at their Market Place workshops. It is in a traditional shape with gorgeous reeded decorated bands. It measures 12 1/4\" high by 5 7/8\"in diameteracross the base and 2 1/8\" in diameter across the nozzle. It has a filled weighted base which is engraved with a detailed armorial crest.It is VERY substantial - it weighs1324.4 grams - well over 42 1/2 troy oz.

It is inpretty good condition withfew dents, less than the usual surface scratching and just a small collection of dings - see photographs - SUPERB. It sitspretty muchupright on its base with almost NO distortion and NO areas of over--polishing - just some loss of fill to the base.It is hallmarked to the base with I.R&Co, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), crown, B, George III duty mark showing that it was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1805. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A super LARGE Georgian candlestick in good condition after210 years!!!
