DESCRIPTION:Pencil drawings on tracing paper by Dave Sim for two-page spread of Glamourpuss No. 6 (July 2009) pages 18-19.Two (2) tracing paper drawings with reference material. DIMENSIONS: 1)First page (p.18) featuresLyndsay, ratedNo. 1 in the parody Top Ten of Blonde MENSA Supermodels. She looks a lot like Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista. Pencil drawing measures 11.5 x 14-inches on 14 x 17-inch tracing paper. Drawing is folded in half w/ crease. 2) Page 19 is the tracing paper that interests me most -- a \"staged publicity photo\" of Alex Raymond \"from 1949 for national syndication encouraging people to listen to baseball games while they work.\" This portrait (page 19) measures10 x 7.5-inches on 11.75 x 9-inch tracing paper. It has a single crease line that does not touch drawing.

I\'ve been helping Dave Sim from the beginning of Glamourpuss, from taking photos of Sim\'s toy 1957 Corvette model car (mag wheels \"Dave Slimmed\" down (search MOMENT OF CEREBUS blog,Sunday, 6 July 2014 (\"A \'56 Corvette Convertible\"))to doing online research and editing Cerebus TV episodes, etc.
I\'m currently assisting Sim with hisGlamourpuss Art sales.The prices on most of those original art pieces are beyond the pocketbooks of most fans & collectors -- that\'s certainly the case for part-time taxi drivers such as myself.
So right now every week I\'ll be trawling through the Glamourpuss Archives and pulling items of interest for sale withrock bottom opening offers of $1. These drawings probably won\'t attract \"deep pockets people,\" instead they are \"works of significance\" that the AVERAGE patron can afford.
The tracings are fabulous in their own right, and (as best I can cobble together) come with the raw sketches & photocopies that Dave Sim used to prepare, compose & construct his finished piece for publication. In many instances the combined pieces operate as a jigsaw puzzle that should titillate fans, comic-book artists and academics providing insight into Sim\'s working method.
Is this stuff valuable...? Dunno. Maybe it\'s worth a dollar... maybe it\'s worth something more. Think of these offerings as thesui generisof what will be Sim\'s forthcoming monumental work, thecurrently-in-production\"The Strange Death of Alex Raymond\"graphic novel to be published by IDW in the near-future. Indeed, there\'s a possibility some of this material will be re-cycled into the new work. Also think of this as a small-fry revenue stream to get me out of the taxi to dedicate more of my time helping Sim stay on schedule. Believe us... we\'re trying to do everything possible to finance this baby!
