This sale is for a lovely Hummel bank made by the Goebel porcelain company of Germany. The figurine is entitled “Little Thrifty” and its is number “118.” It depicts a little boy holding up a silver dollar to deposit in the bank. It comes with the original key on a string.
The bank is approximately 4 ¾ inches high.
It has the back stamp as shown. According to our research, the company used this mark from 1960 to 1963.
The bank is in gently used condition with no chips or cracks. It does need a good cleaning. There are also green felt pieces on the base. As is standard with any porcelain or china pieces, there may be small factory flaws such as tiny bits of ash and transfer trapped under the glaze.
