ALS: \"Grover Cleveland\" as 22nd U.S. President, 3p, 5x7¾. Executive Mansion, Washington, 1888 January 23. To Mary. In full: \"It may be that the good of the public service will incipitate a change in the Diplomatic Representative at Guatemala where Mr. Hall is now located. You have done much to keep him in office this long and if I conclude that another should go there I want to send a man who will attend to the interests which the good people for whom you have spoken have at heart. I should like to know who these people are and Chief one among them, so that if I think just I can communicate with them. Will you tell me all you know about it? Charley is here and spent a part of Saturday and yesterday with us. He talked a little about coming in again to=day but he is apt to slip away upon such a half premise and I suppose he will do so in this case. We were glad to hear through him that you were very well and had had an opportunity to see Sam. You know we want you here as soon as you can come to us. With love to Will and with a good wish from Frank.\" MARY ALLEN CLEVELAND (1833-1914) married William Edward Hoyt (1829-1901) in 1853. They had two sons. Payment - Buyers will be sent payment instructions following their purchase. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express & PayPal. PayPal customers must have a confirmed address on file with PayPal.
