Rare Gebruder Heubach antique character doll, ca. 1918. 16 inches. Nicely sculpted childlike face with full lips on pouty mouth. Side-glancing intaglio eyes with eyeliner. Bisque shoulder plate is incised with: 4 Heubach name in a square and 14 incised sideways. Mold number may be under kid body but the body is firmly glued and we do not want to damage it. We believe her to be mold number 8547, which is very rare to find. Beautiful coloration of the cheeks and face. Molded and painted blonde bobbed hairdo. Doll is on an antique Kestner stamped jointed kid body with bisque lower arms and hands and fabric lower legs and feet. She is wearing an adorable antique lace trimmed cotton pinafore, very nice cotton replacement dress - couture sewn, antique lace trimmed cotton slip and pantaloons, antique cotton socks, replacement shoes, and cute newer ribbon decorated straw bonnet. Condition: Very good! No hairlines or chips. One itsy,bitsy, tiny pin sized rub on tip of the nose. No hairlines or chips to the bisque arms and hands. Body is supple and sturdy. Two pin holes at the knees where original socks were pinned to the body. Light scuffing and soiling to the body, minimal. Clothing in good condition but there are some doll stand rust stains to the pantaloons. Body is antique but not original to the doll, as found. Outstanding, rare doll!

Doll stand is not included. Non-smoking store. Odor free.
