Gene Hazelton (1919-2005) worked for Disney starting in 1939 as an animator, he went to Warner Brothers in 1941 and MGM in 1950. Starting in the late 1950\'s/early 1960\'s he got even busier! There was commercial work, magazine work, work with Tex Avery and more.
From 1961 to the early 1980\'s he was the head artist of the newspaper comics for Hanna Barbera (while ALSO working on their animated shows). Starting in 1974, he took over writing The Flintstones and Yogi Bear comic strips. He turned over the reins of The Flintstones newspaper comic to Don Sherwood in the late 1980\'s. For folks who don\'t know, he created Pebbles and Bamm Bamm for the animated show (Bamm Bamm was modeled after his son).
This strip happens to have FRED FLINTSTONE himself! Ink over graphite on Bristol Board. Approximately 19\" x 6 3/4\". Tape on back, see image for rest of condition.
Gene\'s address is partially visible under the tape on the back (his name has been cut off unfortunately - but see our other sales and you can see his name above the address). Includes a Charles Scott Gallery COA.
