lovely little antique lapel or stick pin, Georgian in date, typical of early 1800s. The pin tests as real gold- most likely 9ct or15ct at this period. The pin is 7.5cm long and the rectangular head is 18mm by 15mm. It has a solid gold back and a scalloped edge, with a decorative border over a glazwd central section. The glass is in nice condition with no damage and just one small scratch and a beveled edge. Behind the glass is a lock of hair which has been plaited/braided into a tiny, tight \'brick\' pattern- really finely done! In excellent condition with a nice, rich yellow colour to the gold, just a little very minor wear on the back with a tiny dent and a pin-prick hole (nothing significant). Total weight is 3.9g.
