Cherish a treasure from the past with this antique brooch! More than a century and a half old, this exquisite crescent brooch is a Georgian piece dating from the 1840’s - 1850’s. Crafted in 18k yellow gold and sterling silver, this enchanting piece features genuine turquoises and natural diamonds. Seven (7) turquoises arrayed in graduated sizes and displaying varied hues ranging from sea-foam green to aqua blue adorn the face of the crescent, while rose cut diamonds glisten inside bezels between the gems. For enhanced radiance, open ports on the underside of the brooch allow light to pass freely through the diamonds. Re-mounted sometime in the long-distant past, the brooch, which is composed of sterling silver and 18k yellow gold, fastens from the back with a Victorian Era (circa 1840’s - 1900’s) pinback and screw fashioned in 18k yellow gold. The bar and fish hook clasp are in immaculate condition and they are easy to operate. This piece’s 18k gold purity and sterling silver composition has been professionally tested and verified.
