German Casige Child Art Deco Litho Sewing Machine & Box 1015 British Zone Germany
- This was a family piece of mine.
- Never offered on the market until now.
- Not a reproduction.
- Never re-painted. Never repaired. All original.
- Spent most of its life in storage.
- Photos have a tendency to exaggerate the flaws..
- Casige toy sewing machine model 1015 art deco circa 1940\'s
- Carl Sieper of Gevelsberg, Westfalen Germany used a mixture of letters from his name and town to create the company name in 1902. Ca - si - ge. (pronounced Kaseege)
- The sewing machines were based on similar models made in Germany at the time.
- Piece is whole and solid with some vintage age and play wear.
- No major rusting.
- Stands sturdy.
- Nice detail to the art deco decal.
- Wheel easily turns, needle (missing) goes up and down and the gears move to move the fabric. Seems to be in working order.
- There is a piece of tape on the bottom ~ I think there to hold an extra needle.
- Also top screw piece that keeps the thread in place seems to not be original ~ although works.
- No major dents, loose paint, cracks or missing or loose pieces.
- Please see photos, request more and/or ask questions.
- Measures at the base 8\" by 4 1/2\" and is 6 3/4\" high.
- Marked on both sides \"1015\"
- Marked on both ends \"Casige\" with an eagle on top.
- Marked on base \"Gesch M 1470\" which is basically a design protection.
- Also marked on base \"Casige (with eagle on top) Made in Germany British Zone\"
- Box is in sad shape, but mostly whole. There is a number on the top panel \"241/1(?)9\"
- Casige was in business from 1902 until 1975 (this piece is from the 1940\'s)
- Piece shows extremely well.
