Main Description

This fine vintage German silver jewellery box has a plain rectangular form.

The surface of this impressive vintage jewellery box has a planished finish with a moulded border to the rim.

This Art Deco style jewellery box is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover with a rounded thumbpiece.

The box has a cedar wood lined interior displaying a bespoke navy blue velvet fitment which provides a large well bordered by integrated ring holders at one side.

This vintage box has a weighted base and retains the original cedar wood lining to the underside.

The box is supported by impressive Art Deco style bracket feet ornamented with further plain moulded borders.

The hallmarks struck to the thumbpiece and underside of the box include:

Maker\'s mark: Icon for Bruckmann & Söhne

Silver quality/purity mark: 800 (800/1000, 800 standard)

National mark: Crescent moon and crown

Additional mark: Handarbeit (translates as handwork/manual work)

Condition

This vintage jewellery box is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent presentation condition.

Full German hallmarks struck to the underside of the box and part hallmarks to the thumbpiece are all very clear.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of vintage 28cm/11"
