German Wehrmacht Tank Transmitter Type 10w.s.c For Sale
This is the 10W.S.c transmitter as used by Panzer tanks in the German army during WWII. It forms part of the Fu 5 radio system (the other part is the Ukw.E.e receiver which I will also be selling later on). This transmitter produces 6 - 10 watts between 27.2 and 33.3MHz, with both voice (AM)and morse (MCW)modes. It has two mechanical preset frequencies as well.
It originally ran from a dynamotor supply (not included), which provided 350V at 100mA HT, and it took 12.6V at 2A from the vehicle battery for the heaters.
Iam selling this for a friend, so I am not familiar with this particular equipment. Ihave, however, taken a very good look at it, and it is not only complete, but also (as far as I can see) un-modified. Ihave included a lot of photos of the inside of the equipment so you should be able to judge that your for yourself.
I also tested this unit and found it to be working more or less as expected. A 50 ohm power meter showed about 4 watts output across the full frequency range - whether the slightly low power (min 6W expected) was due to using a 50 ohm load (when the transmitter expects 60 to 75 ohms), my old power meter being inaccurate, or the need to re-align the transmitter, I am not sure.
A receiver nearby showed a clean transmitter signal, which was modulated by an audio tone in MCW mode.
I have included a copy of the schematic with circuit values indicated. There is plenty of support on the internet (in English) for those interested inWehrmacht radio equipment - contact me for more />Ifanything is unclear please ask questions well before the end of the sale.
