For sale is a very rare Giant bike, the 2002 LaFree Sport bike. Bike comes with the original charger, energy set, key, and all original accessories including the custom fork lock, water bottle holder, and rear storage rack. I will also include copies of the factory service manual and the user manual, which have a wealth of information about every system on the bike.

This was a historic bike in that it was Giant\'s first introduction of an electric bike for the mass market and was produced in the USA before the company was sold. This specific bike is serial number 77 from the first ever run and quite possibly one of the oldest LaFrees to roll off the line in the US.

Almost every component on this bike was custom produced by Giant specifically for this model, from the frame and fairings to the saddle and kickstand. I think maybe the only standard parts used are the Tektro brakes and the actual wheels themselves. This bike shows the quality of construction, as even the chrome engine covers are made from metal and not plastic.

The bike is 100% stock and has been sitting in a basement collecting dust for the better part of 10 years. I dug it up and tried to turn it on with no luck. I replaced the SLA batteries in the energy pack and the bike powers on fine again but I can\'t seem to get the motor to run. I put the bike through the recommended five point diagnostic check, which it seemed to pass across the board.

Unfortunately I\'m out of space for more projects so it\'s time to let someone more skilled than me finish up. The bike IS RIDEABLE in its current form so you will be able to ride it home just fine. I can also help with shipping arrangements if the buyer wants to go that route.
