Genuine or not?

You can absolutely be assured that my old demijohn bottles are genuine and not newly manufactured.
(I bought an old farm house in Italy, with a barn with lots of demijohn bottles of all sizes and ages.)

How to distinguish antique and old bottles from new ones?
Unfortunately they are never dated andrarely there are signs or emblems of the manufacturer,
and if yes, normally this wouldn\'t help because you can\'t find helpful information as for e.g. precious porcelain.
But there are many details to discover which help to sort the bottles into three great categories.

Antique demijohn bottles from the 19th century, or even older
They are all mouth-blown without mould, have the tipical lengthened neck with thesharp-edged opening, include bubbles,
sometimes random strands of color in the glass, the shape is not regular, sometimes lop-sided, the size varies .

(Very) old demijohn bottles from the (early) 20th century
They are also mouth-blown but using a mould, which leaves a seam, the mould-line. With the help of the mould,
the shape is more regular but not completely symmetric. The lip is round, not sharp.
The glass includes bubbles, sometimes has random strands of color or can have dimples.

Modern (and older) demijohn bottles
A mould with inner and outer shape is used for these bottles of moulded or pressed glass, which creates a demijohn
with an absolute regular shape. Normally the glass has no bubbles or other particularities.
Nevertheless, even these bottles are very decorative and are an economic alternative to the rare old ones.

Shipping from Italy Express Mail Service (EMS) for America, Asia and UPS in Europe
(National Italian Postal Service on demand, which is more economic but without tracking and with very very long shipping times) I\'m really sorry for the high shipping costs but for a secure packaging
I use huge special card boxes reaching near the maximally allowed size.
I know there are other offers of big demijohn bottles with (sometimes considerably) lower shipping costs.
Don\'t ask me how they realize it - guaranteeing the same shipping quality?

To demonstrate the size of the bottle, see the milk box of 1 litre (7\" high).
