Difficult to find, this is astunning pair of Arabian Horse Colt Bookendsdesigned by Gladys Brown Edwards and produced by the Dodge Company of Los Angeles in the late 1940s.They bear the original felt and original labels in great condition.

Gladys Brown Edwards (GBE) was a well-recognized horse artist and expert on horse conformation.She was frequently a contributor to horse trade magazines for much of her life and was well known in Arabian horse and American Saddlebred horse circles both during her lifetime and today. It is my understanding that these are modeled after one of GBE\'s own colts.

This lovely pair of bookendsalso can stand alone as wonderful statues. Each horse is7 1/4inches tall by 6 1/2 inches wide. They are in fine aged condition with expected patinaand nocracks or breaks. Each bookend is about 2 1/2 pounds, together,about 5 pounds.
