Description:
Original oil on canvas. Signed W.Glud. Titled Berlin and dated 35 for 1935. Fine cityscape with harbor workers seen at the famous Berliner Dom on the river Spree in Germany. The Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) was built in 1465 as a parish church on the Spree River it was only finally completed in 1905 under the last German Kaiser -Wilhelm II. It was Badly damaged during the Second World War it remained closed during the GDR years and reopened after restoration in 1993. A very rare German pre-World War 2 oil and a collectors dream.A certificate of authenticity and a document with the artists biographical details will be included with this work.

Wilfred Glud (1872-1946)
Wilfred Glud received his artistic training at The N.V Dorph Painting School from 1912-13. Previously, he had completed his education from the Technical School in Copenhagen in 1891. Glud worked and traveled in Germany and Italy from 1892-1896 and resided in Paris from 1937. He debuted at the Royal charlottenborg exhibition in 1913 and had solo shows at the Art union in 1927 and 1942.

Condition:
Ready to hang! In excellent condition. The oil could use a light cleaning, due to the old age. Otherwise fine with no holes, tears or missing paint. The original golden salon frame has minor scratches due to the age.
