Description: Gorham antique sterling silver .925 wash, mustard serving ladle in the rare 1871 Japanese Aesthetic pattern, & IS monogrammed with what appears to be S.M.G. on the back of the handle. This figural Asian designed pattern consisted of multi motifs, & the decor on this piece is a that of a bird on a branch, a bug, possibly a dragonfly, & bamboo. The ladle measures approximately 6 1/8 inches long, & weighs approximately .705 ozt. The back of the ladle is marked with the older lion, anchor G Gorham marks & sterling. The ladle is ingood antique estate condition as follows;NO DENTS OR REPAIRS. THERE IS SOME SCRATCHING, WORN WASH & WEAR CONSISTENT WITH THE AGE OF THE PIECE & NORMAL USAGE. THERE IS GLARE & REFLECTION IN SOME OF THE 12 PHOTOS.
