We are pleased to offer this late 19th century Gorham sterling silver christening mug.

In the firm\'s Renaissance Revival pattern, which is not often seen.

The center with rolled edge scroll medallion \"RCL August 27 1893\" engraved for the original owner.

Amidst beautifully detailed Renaissance Revival scene. Couples in period attire dance amidst leaf and vine. Satin background.

Elegant beaded edge atop larger inset-line and globe detail. Finished with most unique caterpillar style rippling handle. We have observed on other mid-late 19th centiry child mugs.

Gorham sterling silver christening mug is 4 1/2 inches handle to edge and 3 1/2 tall at rim and 6 3/4 standard ounces.

Hallmarked as shown.

In very fine condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina. Mild wear and couple tiny dints.
