This is a Whiting Mfg. sterling silver paper cutter/letter opener in the Imperial Queen pattern. It has the hallmark for the Whiting Mfg. Co. This company was acquired by Gorham. It has the early hallmark on the back of the handle.This is a solid piece and is also marked STERLING PAT 1893. The decorative handle is 3\" long, and the over paper cutter measures approximately 5 3/4\" in length. It is in very nice condition with no dents or dings. There are very minor, light scratches on the blade from gentle use. I have not cleaned it, therefore it has patina from age.
