Gosho Ningyo Gofun Boy and Gofun Horse Large Extremely Rare:

This sale features an extremely rare gosho Ningyo with a large all gofun horse from early 1800 Edo Period. The boy detatches from the horse as seen in the photos and measures about 4-5 inches from top of head to his bottom and feet. He has original placard and hair and ties. The horse measures about 14 inches from nose to tail and about 11 inches high. His saddle, saddle blanket, (both detach from horse and are held in place by a peg) and stirrups are original with only the orange straps having been replaced with modern ribbon. He has tuffs on the back of each hoof and his mane is in its original braiding. Overall both are in excellent condition with some minor discoloration here and there...minor. I notice a couple of hairline cracks in the boys feet but nothing else. The horse sets on a black wooden stand/box and looks like at one time it was nailed to it but probably not originally...there are obvious nail holes in bottom of hoofs. This is an extremely rare piece due to its overall size, condition, and I have never seen a gofun horse with a gosho figure like this...truly remarkable!
