Wand has been IR tested and is working! See last pic.
Batteries are not included. They just use 2 regular AA batteries and battery installation only requires a few steps. Unscrew the Silver Ball topper. Once you have done that you will see a plastic base underneath with 2 metal tabs. In between the two tabs is a thin slot. If you put a flat screwdriver in the slot you can turn it and then remove it to place batteries in. Its very easy to do at home and avoid the high cost Great Wolf charges to change the batteries in your wand! There are videos on YouTube detailing this procedure if you need a visual representation.
Please note if you are not familiar with these wands:

The end does NOT light up. I have shown the IR transmitter working in the last pic to show that it does work. The human eye cannot see this IR light.
These wands have a small rattle in them to add to the effect of waving your wand at the resort. This is NOT something broken or loose inside the wand
