A perfectly matched set of #12 Griswold large logo Erie, PA USA skillet and lid. These two have been together since the 1930\'s. Please don\'t break them up now!
Here are the particulars on this gorgeous couple: Both are perfectly flat with no wobbles, cracks, repairs or rust. Cast iron pieces are not perfectly uniform, and these two show typical Griswold quality in their casting. The only things I feel should be noted are shown in the photos. First- The lid has a light \"shadow\" on one section of the inside that was left after it was cleaned. This will cover up over time as it is used. Second- There is a thin casting flaw shown on top of the lid in one small area. Nothing serious. Third- There is a barely visible \"ghost\" casting of the 12 shown on the top of the handle. Fourth- There is a tiny \"pit\" shown in the 9th photo. That is a teaspoon I used to give a reference to the size of the imperfection.
I have personally cleaned these two via electrolysis, scrubbed them down with no harsh chemicals, and then applied one coat of seasoning with Crisco vegetable shortening. I would recommend seasoning them at least one more time before you use them for cooking. They will be packed in a professional manner and shipped via USPS Standard Shipping.
