This is a Group of 3 vintage American Indian baskets from an old collector\'s estate. Two of the baskets are large size, and one smaller. One appears to be a very old Navaho Wedding Basket (over 12\" diameter), with faded design but in otherwise good condition (a few very small flaws which are all shown in closeup photos). There is a large tapered basket that stands about 9\" high and is 12\" diameter (at top) and about 7\" diameter on the bottom, and has a multicolor design - it has one small break on top coil as shown in picture, and a few very small nicks in the weaving in a few other areas (shown in pictures). The smaller basket is about 8\" diameter, and has multi-color coils and design - some of the coil sections have the small attachment wraps (that hold coils together) broken as shown in pictures, so it gaps open on one side if you lift up; otherwise a nice condition basket. These are all old, and were collected by a relative\'s great grandparents during the 1930\'s into early 1940\'s - further details are provided below. Check the pictures, they are an essential part of the description and condition.
I am helping my brother sell a few things off from the estate that he inherited. His spouse\'s great grandparents were avid collectors and traveled all over the western US during the 1930\'s and into the early 1940\'s, collecting a variety of antiques. The great grandmother was one-quarter Potawatami Indian blood herself, and they collected a number of indian items during that time. These baskets were ones they would never part with, but we do not know the tribal affiliation for them. I am not an expert on indian crafts, but in doing some basic research the large \'tray like basket\' appears to be an old Navaho Wedding Basket - the design is faded from age, but there as noted in the photos. It has a small label on the bottom (see picture) as if it was on display at one time (museum?). The other two multicolor design baskets are from unknown tribes, I tried to find comparable baskets from images online but was not successful - if you can recognize the pattern and design, please let me know and I\'ll update the listing with the information. They are of a coil type construction, with the larger tapered basket being in good condition other than the small break on top coil layer (shown in photo). The smaller multi-color design basket is separating on one coil layer - it is probably repairable, I will leave that to the buyer.
You are buying all 3 vintage baskets as one Lot. Get these while they are available, for your collection or display.

Shipping will use recycled materials to save you money. I will pack as carefully as I can, with the baskets inside plastic bags, then foam peanuts, and stiff white foam sheet for outer protection inside the cardboard box.
