Description Abeautiful large Englishantique18th Century George IIIsolid sterling silversugar/peppercaster by the silversmiths Jabez Daniell & James Mince(1766-1770) and with full English silver hallmarks for London 1769. Excellent quality 247 year oldsterling silver example,handsome size and complete withits tight-fitting pierced and prick-work decorated pull-off silver lid. Made from a good thick gauge of silver and weighs a heavy approx. 136 grams.No added personal engraved inscriptions.

MeasurementsMeasures approx.5.85 inches (149mm) inheight,and is2.25 inches (58mm) in diameter.

Date English antique18th Century George IIIsolid sterling silver,with a full set of English silver hallmarks for London 1769, (date letter \"O\"). Also stamped with an early lion passant/gardantsterling silver mark and alsothe crowned leopards head stamp of the London assay office.Excellent clear struck marks. No marks on the pierced lid, but again quite normal and is almost certainly the original.

Maker silversmiths initials \"I.D & I.M\", (Jabez Daniell & James Mince,1776-1770).

ConditionLovely antique condition,and ready to be used. Nosplits or cracks, no obviousrepairsand no nasty knocks or dents, a few little tiny shallow age-related surface dents/bruises, really nothing much at all and a nice clean example.The pierced silver pull-off lid has no damage to the pierced work and is almostdefinitely the original and isthe perfect tight fit. Beautifulearly-dated examplewith a nice heavy silver weight and is a handsomelarge size, possibly for sugar or pepper. With no added personal engraved inscriptions.
