Iwanted to do something a little bit different. I love the Regency era, and Ilove Easter. Well, let’s put our hands together, darlin’!

Meet Beatrix!

One doll, two outfits! Beatrix is of high enough qualityto be a Madame Alexander PrincessElizabeth doll, but she is not marked, so your guess is as good as mine. Shemeasures about 16” and is in very nice shape. And she is O.L.D. (Once-LovedDoll) No. 00036 and 6 of 6 in the “Ann” series.

Myphilosophy is to do as little as possible to these girls. Mend them, cleanthem, and dress them up so that they can last and be loved for another lifetimewithout losing the signs that they were Once-Loved before. Do not look forairbrushed perfection here!

Beatrix has been with me for awhile andI decided it was finally her turn. She needed very little in the way of care, just a little cleaning and a messy wig to once again accentuate how very, verybad I am with hair. Also, I noticed that her head was moving in a “wonky”fashion. Apparently, somebody made a new head hook for her when hers wentmissing, and it’s not quite right. It was ME. I confess! I’m going to look for/tryto make a a better hook. No guarantees! However, she can hold a pose and isn’ttoo tight and the occasional small adjustment is all you need (if at second Idon’t succeed (poet!)).

Beatrix’ coloring is BEAUTIFUL. Shecleverly retains her rosy knees and elbows to go with her cheeks and has nice, full lashes.

NOWFOR HER CLOTHES!

BUNNYOUTFIT: So much fun to make! The body, headand feet are separate. For the body, I found a vintage metal zipper, so it zipsup the back. My first zipper in eons! You can’t see them, but there are littlepink pads to indicate paws. Also a fur-covered bead for her tail. The body suitis lined in white satin so the underside of the faux fur doesn’t irritateBeatrix’ royal skin.

The headpiece ties on like a helmetwith a wired bow and the ears have pink satin accents. But the head and bootiesare lined in the same pink satin. The “booties” merely go over her shoes andsnap in the back.

BUNNYBASKET: Beatrix Bunny sports a basket toofilled with goodies to carry! There are smallish size plastic Easter eggs(Hershey’s milk chocolate), foil wrapped “carrots” (chocolate with crispy ricebecause carrots would just go bad and let\'s face it, chocolate’s better) as well as a littlewooden bunny. Everything’s nestled in a vintage hankie. The basket itself isreally nice as well.

REGENCYOUTFIT:

HAT:Back in the Regency day this would have been called a “Stovepipe Bonnet” andyou can see why. It has a chipboard base covered in lovely old green velvetwith sky/sea blue satin ruching and the very last bit of one of my favoritetrims around the crown. Vintage gold gros grain ribbon and two metal buttonscomplete the hat. It is lined to protect Beatrix’ messy hair.

DRESS:This is a comfortable cotton dress with a scoop neck, a highwaist, a full longish skirt and two pockets. In one of the pockets is a portionof antique lace to act as a hankie. The dress snaps in back.

CAPE:Gold upholstery fabric outer and deeper blue fabric lining, because I wantedsomething a little different. There is ruching on the shorter layer of the capeto mimic her bonnet. It ties with a blue velveteen bow.

BOOTS:Handmade leather lace up boots in olive green with suede soles.

BLOOMERS:Possibly store made in blue. Yes, I was happy to find them! Beatrix has a LOTof clothes…

BASKET:I wanted something light that Beatrix herself could carry. This basket is lightindeed! It comes with a posy of little flowers.

HIPPITY-HOPPITY! Beatrix won’t arrivein time for Easter, but you’ll know that she’s on her way, and anticipation ishalf the fun! She is the last in the “Ann” series (I found six vintage “Ann” tags in a junk shop and by golly, I’m going to use them).

Because of all her stuff, Beatrix\' box will weigh a little extra. I\'m figuring about 4 lbs. If you\'d like, I\'ll eat the chocolate for you thereby saving you some ounces. Let me know! And yer welcome in advance....

Please Feel Free: to ask any questions or request additional photos.

Shipping: if I am off by a dollar or more, back into your pocket the difference goes! I\'ve done it before and I will do it again!

Thank you!
