Hi Quality Very Fine Gold And Silver Wire Antique Japanese Meiji Cloisonne Vase For Sale
Rare quality and beauty! This is a very fine classic Golden Age meiji japanese cloisonne vase with rounded form and broad shoulders and short thin neck. The design is of two gold wired bird in flight around a flowering tree with chrysanthemum flowers growing at the base of the trunk. On the reverse side is a narcissus flower and a purple flowering chrysanthemum plant. The rim and throat plate and the base are gold washed. The surface is very very highly polished- it was difficult to get good images due to the refelctions from any angle due to the rounded surfaces. Unsigned. 7 1/4" tall. Excellent condition - there is a approx. 1/4" restoration on the rear just above the narcissus (see the picture). Ask all questions before offerding.
