HOPI NATIVE AMERICAN LARGE POLYCHROME POTTERY POT VASE, c.Early 1900s, RARE:
$200.00
This rare old Hopi pot is in nice condition for its vintage age. While I am not an expert, I was told this old pottery piece is likely from the early 20th century. It measures approximately 8\" in height; 6\" diameter of base; 5.5\" diameter of the top opening; and, 9\" in width at the widest middle point. There are no noted cracks, chips or nicks. There are some paint blemishes and fading on the side and upper lip; and, pitting to the pottery, primarily on the bottom. This is an old, rare used piece of Native American Hopi pottery that is a highly collectible piece of history. Please refer to the photos I have included. We only ship domestically within the continental United States.

CLARIFICATION:
I tried unsuccessfully to add a couple of the recent collector comments I received to the listing. So, I decided to paraphrase the comments here for you. You can review the attached pictures and determine, for yourself, whether the Antique Pot is a Hopi, a Casas Grandes, Mata Ortiz or another Indian tribe. When offerding, we want you to be able to make an informed decision.
Here are the collector comments we received: The pot is nice but it isn\'t Hopi; rather, it is Casas Grandes or Mata Ortiz. The piece is likely not Hopi; rather the pot is a very old Casas Grandes Polychrome Jar, c1100 - 1200 A.D., which is highly collectible.
My husband purchased this antique piece about a week ago at an estate sale. The dealer holding the sale told us the Jar/Pot is Hopi from the late 19th century or early 20th century; we are not experts in this field so we believed his comments to be accurate.
I hope these comments help to clarify what we know about this old piece. Regardless, the pottery is a great collectible!
Thank You.
