Up for offers isan amazing pair of large size circa 1915 leather football shoulder pads! Man are these nice pads! The leather is in great shape! It is soft and supple and still very strong! As the photos show, there are gridiron battle scars but no major damage (see all photos). It has that antique leather aroma we all know and love and a great shine! It has it\'s beautiful 100% original worn brown patina.No dyes, colored polishes, or coloring of any kind used. The canvas sections are also in great shape. The canvas is thick and strong with just some light staining here or there. Both of the original cloth underarm straps are present and firmly attached. The underside wool (or possibly asbestos) padding is all present and is in great shape (see all photos). They have period laces with metal tips (one of the tips is missing). They are an unusually large size for being around 100 years old measuring out at 23 1/2\" long X 13\" wide when laid out flat as in photo #1. We included a scan (for reference only) from a 1915 Spalding football catalog where you can see shoulder pads a lot like these (circled in red). Seriously, how sweet would these early shoulder pads look displayed in your office, sports room, or man cave!NOTICE- This is anantiquecollectible football item that is not to be used foranythingbut collecting.If you have any concerns, please feel free to ask any questions or request further photos.
