Purchased this rug in Nepal in the mid 1980s in Namche Bazaar. I remember the seller saying that it was made in Tibet. The carpet hung via a wooden dowel (see backside) for several years and then has been in storage. Thus, it is excellent shape with no stains or marks. Since we are not using it, it might as well have a life someone else\'s home. My recollection is that it is wool and handmade.
