This beautiful Vintage All metal Bernina 740 sewing machine WAS MADE IN Switzerland.I am reluctantly parting with my Bernina 740 Favorite Semi-Industrial sewing machine. This machine combines the features of the classic domestic Bernina Record .It was made in the sixties.You can sew silk to leather with this machine.Manufactured in Switzerland and with all metal construction, this machine comes from a generation of classic Berninas which are highly prized in the world of textiles as reliable workhorses that will sew through anything. As the images show, it is a beautiful, very tidy, vintage machine in excellent working order.It has the bobbin case an a bobbin an 2 extra bobbins.Photo 3 shows some of the fancy stitches.Photo 4 shows a sample of leather an the bottom stitches.Photos 5 an 6 show 2 layers of leather sewn,an the bottom stitches.I have seen this same model used in the large table with the big motor that is under the table an large foot pedal an long belt.
This machine is an oldie but a goodie. It has a wonderful stitch. You will be able to sew quilts to curtains and even hem your kids jeans.Upholstery,heavy denim,lite leather,canvas,webbing. This is a quality machine that Bernina is known for. All metal construction so there are no plastic parts to break. There are no accessories or extra feet that come with this machine,but I am including 2 extra bobbins.I just oiled an lubed it. If your looking for a great well built machine that will sew through almost anything this is for you. Get this beast at a great price.
