Hennegan & Bates (Dominick & Haff) Baltimore \"Turtle\" Sterling Souvenir Spoon:
$29.00

One of two highly collectible Baltimore souvenir spoons that feature a turtle and shell theme on the handles, this example was made by Dominick & Haff and retailed by the Baltimore firm of Hennegan, Bates & Co. This piece is smaller than a teaspoon at 4 3/8\" long and weighs just over .3 T. oz. In mint condition, it must have been preserved only as a keepsake. The turtle, oyster shells, and seaweed are all sharply defined, as are the cattails and word Baltimore on the backside, which also has a fancy script \"HGC\" monogram. The bowl features the North Point monument and is finished with a satin matte gold wash. Marks are the Dominick & Haff emblem, the name of the retailer, and the word \"Sterling.\"
