HERBERT HOOVER RARE HANDWRITTEN SIGNED LETTER~Personal Stationery~Aug 10 1949:

This original and complete handwritten letter is being saleed by the family of its original owner. It was written and signed by Herbert Hoover, the 31st United States President, and was sent to my Grandmother in 1949, in response to birthday wishes which she had sent to him. It then was stored carefully and respectfully by her, and was recently \"rediscovered\" amongst her \"treasures\".
The letter was written on his personal stationery, as it is embossed at the top with \"HERBERT HOOVER\". It states, \"I have your birthday message But the number that have come to me is too overwhelming for the individual response I should like to make. This only partially expresses my gratitude to you.\" It is then signed, \"Aug 10 1949 Herbert Hoover\".
Herbert Hoover did not send handwritten material often, thus this is of particular rarity. It is in folded stationery format, with the open page measuring 10.5\" X 8.5\", and the written portion measuring 8.5\" X 5.25\". It was folded I would assume so as to fit in the envelope.
This is a wonderful and rare piece of history, and would, of course, add much to any historical, presidential, paper, or autograph collection. Additionally, it would frame and display perfectly, and would add much to any home as a piece of history of the United States of America.
