High Quality Antique IraqiSolid Silver & Niello Pepperette (with base missing)

Skillfully hand made by Mandean silversmiths c1925; The last photo shows the silversmiths at work at that time.

It features fine quality niello work depicting a grand Mosque on the banks of the Euphrates river, date palms andsailing boats and other river craft. It is signed in arabic with the words \'Amarah Fadl\'. Amarah is in the south of Iraq and was a centre of production of these types of wares. Fadl could refer to the name or the word which means grace or gracious.

Unfortunately the piece is missing its base. Nevertheless it is as fine a quality sample of this type of niello work and displays well and has a height of 54mm.
