Very skillfully hand raised near Amarah, southern Iraq by skilled Mandean silversmiths and in excellent, gleaming condition inside and out. With a richly gilded interior
It features fine quality, intricate niello work depicting a Grand Mosque, a sailing boat and another archaic vessel on the river euphrates, date palms and reed beds.
It\'s tactile and beautifully proportioned. with an overall height of 128mm.
It is made from a good gauge of good quality solid silver and weighs an impressive
145g or 5.1oz.
Beautiful Antique Iraqi solid silver and Niello Milk Jug (I don\'t think you will easily find a better example) and a very rare and interesting aspect of genuine antique Islamic art.
