This is a listing for a rare hand wrought 1940\'s or possibly earlier Navajo ring in unused condition. It comes from the stored inventory of an early trading post and was never worn…making it very rare.
Hallmarks: None, as would be expected for it\'s time frame. Tested as sterling. Hand cut deep serrated bezel, high domed stones and simple Navajo embellishments are characteristic of this era.
Dimensions: Very large face measures 1.75 inches in length and 1 and 1/8th inches in width. This is a bold bold piece that was meant to be noticed. It weighs a substantial and comfortable 16 grams. The central stone measures 1 inch in length and is 5/16th inches in width. The round stones are 3/16th inches in diameter.
Condition: Wonderful to see a ring this old with no signs of use. The silver work is excellent with strong hand formed deep serrated bezels that tightly hold each stone. The stones have the high domed beautiful cut from this time frame. They are high grade natural stones from the Blue Gem mine in Nevada. This mine is known for it\'s beautiful colors of blue and blue green combinations with a yellow gold matrix. It\'s turquoise is very strong and all the stones in this ring have a wonderful polish. The central cut marquis is a bright bright blue with gold scattered matrix. The round stones range in color from bright blue to medium green. The beautiful variation in color greatly contributes to the rarity and beauty of these stones. The band is made from thick half round silver wire that was triple split and pounded flat at the shank, balancing the large stone and creating a comfortable fit for a large ring.
Style: A beautiful classic early Navajo cluster ring. The high domed natural stones are set in deep hand cut bezels that are surrounded by twisted silver wire. Individual pieces of scrolled wire add an elegant touch. Hand poured drops of silver surround the ring and finish the simple embellishments.
